Welcome to Bohemian Summer Festival!

Set over 1,700 acres of stunning Australian bushland. 

A hidden natural gem located on the doorstep of Ipswich and the Scenic Rim in glorious Southeast Queensland.

This village has been created by so many women coming together to offer their time, their life’s work and their valued presence.

GENERAL WHAT TO BRING

- Festival ticket and photo ID

- Car Pass or Sleeping in Car, Campervan, Motorhome/Caravan Pass if sleeping in the main festival area (otherwise car parking is separate for safety reasons) One needed per Vehicle, not per person. This must be purchased prior to arriving at the Ticket Check Point.

- Insect spray and sunscreen

- Camp chairs

- Esky

- Refillable Water Bottle

- Phone charger and power packs

- Towels, toiletries

- Touch and battery powered Lanton's

- Bags for rubbish

- Bags for dirty clothing

- Medical Essentials 

- Cash for donation-based services in the Healing Haven

- Money for market stalls and food vans. There will be no eftpos machine on site so bring cash in case.

- Sunhat and rain poncho. Prepare for all weather events.

- Most importantly, an open heart & open mind.​

BOHEMIAN SUMMER FESTIVAL STOCK IMAGES

IMPORTANT RULES

​

Please adhere to the following:

  • No open flame

  • No gas stoves or BBQ’s

  • No dogs or pets (support animals are exempt)

  • No drugs or byo alcohol

  • Only smoke in the designated area. Please pick up & bin your cigarette butts.

  • Observe the specified gate opening and closing times

  • Wear your official festival wristband at all times

  • No non-paying ticket holders/ friends to come onsite to help set up or pack up your gear without prior approval from Management

  • All Caravans, Campervans and trailers must have a valid Caravan/Campervan ticket to enter the site.

  • The road in the main festival area is one way only

  • Once Festival commences no movement of vehicles that are parked within the festival area can take place without the approval from info desk and assistance with the buggy. Vehicles that are parked in the outer car parks can come and go from the main entry during gate openings times at will.

GLAMPING

 

All decked out with an oversized bed & quality linen. Already set up and awaiting your arrival.

​GLAMPING TENTS INCLUDE:

  •  Comfortable self-inflating air camping mattress

  • Quality bedding: fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillows, pillowcases, doona and doona cover, warm woollen blanket.
    • Throw cushions

Please note the rooms do not have a toilet or shower in them but there is a toilet / shower block allocated to that area.

Getting There

5623 Geelong-Ballan Rd, Ballan Victoria 3342

Situated on 65 acres of park land.

​

Phoenix Park is located at the Western Highway

27 minutes from Ballarat or 1 hours' drive from Melbourne.

​

A shuttle bus is available for coming from and to the site from the local train station and from local and surrounding offsite accommodation. This is booked through Your Event Angels - please express your interest in this HERE​.

Arrival

ARRIVAL

GATE ENTRY AND CLOSING TIMES

Enter according to your car pass

 

Thursday - (need to purchase an Night Before Early Set Up Pass)

  • 4pm: Gates open - Gates close 7pm

​

Friday

  • 7am:     Gates open

(please note the gate closes for entry at 7pm)

​

Saturday

  • 7:00am – 11:00am / Exit only after this period

​

Sunday

  • 7:00am – 11:00am / Exit only after this period 

The festival ends around 4:30pm (guests must exit by 7pm)

​

​

On arrival, you will drive in a straight line up to the ticket check point. Please remain in your car for ticket processing. Have your General admission and car pass (for those staying on site) tickets ready for scanning off your phone or printed copy.

​

Depending on your accommodation type and Car Pass, staff will then direct you on where to go.

​

You will be driving in one way and driving out the same way. The road around the festival grounds in ONE WAY ONLY for the duration of the event and is 5km per hour for safety reasons.

 

DAY PASSES

Attendees with day passes will be directed to park in the day pass area and walk over to the festival grounds. This walk is on flat ground and will take approx. 5 minutes at the most. 

If you have mobility issues or need any assistance at all, please wait at the Buggy Stop which is located next to the TICKET CHECK POINT for a buggy to give you a lift.

(There is another buggy stop located at the INFO TENT should you later need a lift back to the car park area)

Day passes do not need a car pass ticket.

​

CAR PASSES

Anyone staying on site will need the appropriate car pass. This needs to be purchased prior to ticket processing at the gate. 

Only one car pass is needed per car - not per person.

​

CAMPING / GLAMPING / CABINS / APARTMENTS

After showing your tickets and getting your wrist bands, you will be directed to the appropriate area by our friendly crew. You will be able to drop off your belongings and fellow travelers/attendees next to the road in that area. You will then be directed to park in the STAYING ONSITE Festival carpark. You can then walk back to your designated spot or if you don't mind waiting, head to the Buggy Stop which is located next to the TICKET CHECK POINT for a buggy to give you a lift back.

PLEASE NOTE: Car parking and accommodation options are separate for safety reasons. 

  • The camping area is not huge so please be mindful of the size of your camping set up.

  • There are some shared powered facilities throughout. Feel bring your own cords and power points. This is a first in best dressed scenio. 

​

SLEEPING IN CARS / CAMPERVANS / CARAVANS / MOTORHOMES

For attendees who have a SLEEPING IN CAR, CAMPERVAN, MOTORHOME / CARAVAN pass you will be directed to the appropriate area by our friendly crew so you can sleep in your car, campervan, motorhome or caravan within the main festival grounds.

Upon arrival and showing your above pass and your Festival pass at the TICKET CHECK POINT you will be directed on where to park and will follow the road around until you get to another check point where staff will inform you where you will park up for the event. 

We ask that you do not move your vehicle during the event without permission from Event Staff. 

Partners / Husbands can come into the festival grounds Friday morning if you need assistance driving your caravan. Please let us know prior and they MUST be off the grounds by 10am on Friday and cannot return until 5pm Sunday.

  • Each caravan site is 4m x 14m. All vehicles need to be self-contained.

  • Caravan sites are powered. Please bring your own leads.

  • Wastewater can be released into nearby gardens

  • Friends who are camping can also set up in your spot if you have the room.

Map & Facilities

FACILITIES:

 Phoenix Park is on mostly flat and well-maintained land. There are gravel paths and shaded grass areas throughout.

​

  • Two onsite toilet and shower blocks that are wheelchair accessible. One being in the main festival area near the Crafting Tent and the Workshops and the other being near the Cozy Cabins

  • There are also several Portable toilets and showers in most areas.

  • Hot Showers are available but please keep time to a minimum so others have a chance to shower as well. 3 minutes max. Showering during the day will probably have less wait times than attempting to shower morning or night.

  • Water taps are scattered throughout the campgrounds with free drinking water.

  • Hot water station (bring your thermos) near the Crafting Tent

  • 24-hour First Aid services (on call overnight)

  • Information Tent

  • Buggy stop at both the Ticket Check in Point and the Info Tent in case you need a lift

  • Support and free counseling services (for those in need), please visit our First Aid tent.

  • A large amount of tables and chairs around the main areas for your comfort.

You will receive a 40-page full color printed program guide upon arrival to help you navigate your time at Bohemian Summer Festival better. Bring some pens or textures so you can circle the workshops or activities that take your fancy.

WORKSHOP ETIQUETTE:

No need to pre-book. You simply turn up approx. 10 minutes prior.

There may be limited spots in the craft workshops so if you are really keen to do something, please ensure you get their extra early. Most of these run twice so if you miss it once, you will have another chance to participate.

If you need to leave a workshop early, you are welcome to do so but please be mindful to leave quietly and without fuss as to not distract the presenter and participants.

INFO TENT

The INFO TENT is here to assist you with any enquiries you may have during the festival. A notice board of any program changes or things to note will also be available here.

​

ACCESSIBILITY

If at any time you need assistance please flag down a staff member. We are here to support you in any way possible.

 

BUGGY STOPS

Need to access your car or in need of assistance? We have two Buggy stops that as long as you don’t mind waiting, will be happy to give you a lift as needed.

​

COUNSELING & SUPPORT

If you are at any time feeling overwhelmed and need extra support please present to either the INFO DESK or FIRST AID.

If you see someone struggling, please flag down a staff member.

Please note there are a number of quiet retreat spaces onsite.

 

CONTRACTORS

Please be aware that at times there may be contractors onsite who don’t identify as female.

​

PHOTOGRAPHY

Bohemian Summer Festival hopes to document and promote the event through photography & videography.

Attendees automatically provide consent to be included in all photography & videography taken by organizers or official event photographers and for all of these recordings to be used at the discretion of the organizers and their partners.

If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed, it is the responsibility of each individual to leave details at the INFO TENT to make this request and to leave details so we can exclude their image from our promotional material.

 

FIRE:

We are holding Bohemian Summer Festival during the fire ban season.

Please be advised that the following is not permitted:

  • No smudge sticks, candles, fires, pyrotechnics, firecrackers, sparklers, incense sticks or flares.

  • No gas stoves or BBQ’s

​

IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE

POWER

There are shared power facilities throughout Phoenix Park where you will be able to charge your phone.

Please do not unplug any plugs in use.

WATER

There are town water taps throughout Phoenix Park that you are welcome to fill your water bottle from.

​

WASTE MANAGEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY

We aim to leave no trace so please either use the designated bins or take any rubbish home with you.

We are participating in the Container deposit scheme to raise funds for a local charity.

​

CHANGES IN THE PROGRAM

The program is subject to change and these changes will be communicated via Facebook, Instagram, or the workshop location on their noticeboard an.

SELF CARE HUB

The Self Care Hub is a space offering Pampering, Healing and Reading Sessions.

We will be opening up some pre-bookings for this area shortly.

During the festival you will also be able to line up at the SELF CARE HUB TENT and book in a 25-minute Healing or Reading with one of our amazing facilitators.

Bookings are donation based from $50 for 25 minutes.

Payment will be made directly to the Healer/Reader. Please bring cash as they may not have eft facilities.

There are also several Stallholders that will be offering Healing & Reading Services that you can book in at anytime during their festival opening hours.

 

WELCOME TO COUNTRY & SMOKING CEREMONY

Held by proud Wadawurrung Woman Tammy Gilson in the main stage area at 6:30pm on Friday.

​

CLOSING CEREMORY

This will take place in the Main Stage area at 3pm. Come together one last time to reminisce and appreciate our time together before we bid farewell until next time.

​

LEAVING BOHEMIAN SUMMER FESTIVAL

When you are ready to leave, you can collect your car and drive into the grounds to pull off to the edge of where you were camping/glamping etc. Load your car and keep driving the one way out.

Please be advised that during the main festival grounds, the road is one way only.

No cars are permitted to stay parking in the main festival area without prior permission from Event Organisers or a proper pass.

Any car that is blocking the road may be towed.

No vehicles are permitted in past the “NO CAR PAST THIS SIGN“ entry points of the main festival area.

WE WELCOME YOUR FEEDBACK

Should you have any concerns please let the INFO TENT know so we can address them if possible in a timely matter.

Otherwise, there will be a feedback book at the INFO TENT as well as a survey sent out otherwards so we can get your valuable feedback on how we can improve to make Bohemian Summer Festival an enjoyable experience for all.
